Five years can seem like a long time if you’re not enjoying yourself. For Ott, the last five years have flown by in an instant.Skylon carries on where Blumenkraft left off. Still in evidence are the broad, all-encompassing 3d soundscapes of his previous work, the reggae influence still intact, but this time they are tempered by a more measured approach to arrangement and instrumentation. The result is a more spacious and focussed album which fills the room with rich ambience and timeless melody, underpinned by his trademark pin-sharp rhythms and monstrous basslines.
